Road Projects – NSW

The Team has worked on client and contractor sides on projects and programs that include;

o   WestConnex, St Peters Interchange

o   Devil’s Pulpit Upgrade, Pacific Highway

o   Hunter Expressway, NSW

o   Albury Hume Freeway, NSW

o   Bangor Bypass, NSW

o   Area maintenance on the Golden Highway and New England Highway.

Hexham Holding Roads

This project involved the strategy development, approvals and construction of approximately 12.5kms of train storage and the removal and relocation of the existing down main.  The purpose was to alleviate system congestion on the coal network by providing infrastructure to allow for re-sequencing or storage of loaded coal trains prior to their arrival at the Port thereby increasing operational flexibility.  The Project Team, employed on client side (prior to establishing EJC Projects) led the $138M project. The now EJC Team included General Manager, Project Director, Project Managers, Contract Specialists and Site Supervisors to work within the UHVA Alliance Team.

Hunter Valley Capacity Expansion program, circa $1.6B – building from 115MTpa in 2011 to 270MT pa by 2016

The Project Team, employed on client side (prior to establishing EJC Projects) led the various Heavy Haul Rail Projects supporting the HV Coal Industry (30T axle load) across the Hunter Valley (35 in total), including;

  • Maitland to Minimbah 3rd Road ($363m);
  • New Loops and extensions from Muswellbrook to Narrabri ($160m);
  • 9 New Passing Loops on the Ulan Line ($130m);
  • Nundah Bank 3rd Road ($80M);
  • Antiene to Grasstree Duplication ($45M); and
  • Drayton and Newdell Junctions ($40M)

The EJC Team included General Manager, Project Director, Project Managers, Contract Specialists and Site Supervisors.

Hunter Valley Turnout Renewals

This program of works consisted of the replacement of turnouts and crossovers across the Hunter Valley Heavy Haul network. In addition the underlying track formations were fully reconstructed in conjunction with the installation of the new turnouts and associated signalling infrastructure. EJC supplied the Project Manager to work on the client side to develop project management documentation as well as manage the tender and contract development for the supply and installation of the turnouts through to management of the successful contractors for delivery of the program of works.
